How to use this CD-ROM?
This CD-ROM, prepared by the Asia-Pacific Unit of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, contains base-line information on the Periodic Reporting process in general and applied to the Asia and Pacific region in particular. It also includes the Regional Synthesis of the national and site specific Periodic Reports submitted by the 39 Asia-Pacific States Parties between late 2002 and early 2003.
To access the Regional Synthesis, go to National and Site Specific Reports on the Home page. The Regional Synthesis is divided as follows:

Section I contains the summaries of the national reports submitted by the Asia-Pacific States Parties. Each State Party report can be consulted individually or by sub-region, in PDF format.

Section II contains the summaries of the site specific reports submitted by the site managers of the 88 World Heritage properties concerned by the first cycle of the Periodic Reporting exercise. The site specific reports are separated into two categories: cultural properties, and natural and mixed properties. The reports can be consulted by sub-region for these two categories.

The Annexes contain a compilation of national legislative texts concerning heritage conservation and promotion, as well as the Final Report of the UNESCO Consultation Meeting of Asian States Parties to the World Heritage Convention to prepare the Synthesis Periodic Report, held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, from 13-15 March 2003.
This CD-ROM, together with the paper publication 'The State of World Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region, 2003', constitutes the final Periodic Report of the first cycle of Periodic Reporting for the Asia-Pacific Region. For more information, the paper publication mentioned above should be consulted.
